Information You Submit
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party service that delivers results. Altoona Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the contents of the message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services may keep standard logs such as an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We use aggregated information to maintain the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Technical Data Is Used
The limited information supports site operation, error correction, aggregate traffic measurement, and page improvements. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a website keeps. Research did not identify a broad Pennsylvania consumer data-broker deletion statute. Because we keep little data, a request usually involves the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Altoona, Blair County, and Pennsylvania public records are controlled by their own custodians, so requests about those records belong with the responsible office.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
